One of the greatest backcourt players to play the game, and a true ironman, Grind missed only 11 games in 17 seasons (all in Season 26). He never played a semipro game and started every regular season game of his career for Memphis. In the history of SimHoops, Grind is 2nd all-time in points scored, 3rd all-time in assists and 5th all-time in steals.

Born on a United States Naval Station in Greece, Hicks followed his fathers career path by attending the Naval Academy in Annapolis. While in Annapolis Hicks set many previous school records established by David Robinson. After Annapolis Hicks became the first ever #1 draft pick in SimHoops history when San Antonio selected him first overall following Season 1. Hicks lived up to the billing of the #1 pick being a mainstay in the middle for 12 seasons, most notably for the Seattle Cougars and San Francisco Roadrunners. Hicks military upbringing was clearly evident as he was always the first into the gym and the last one to leave. That work ethic often inspired he teammates to step up their game when playing with the multi-talented star. Hicks will be best known for a mocking quote he gave during Season 11, when a reporter asked him why his turnover rate had been increasing dramatically over the last few seasons due to being called quite frequently for "double-dribbling," Hicks responded "They just haven''t realized I can dribble with both hands at once since I am amphibious…" Spoken like a true Marine. Hicks still lives in Annapolis where he does color commentary for Loyola (MD) basketball.

Known in Minneapolis as "El Toro", the Valencia native had flair both on and off the court that was undeniable. In an era of mostly pass first point guards, Homer Courtney led the charge for a new era of guards that could shoot the lights out and put a tremendous amount of pressure on their opponents to score on all of their possessions just to keep up with the charging bull from Minneapolis. Following Season 21, Salt Lake City Night Hawk Point Guard Derek Cook credited Courtney as being his role model growing up in rural Venezuela, and said he honored their entire championship run in Season 21 as vindication for the three seasons in which Courtney''s Minneapolis Bricklayers lost in Finals. Although Courtney was never able to earn a SimHoops title, he was able to capture gold at the Season 12 Olympics when the high scoring Spanish team defeated the United States in the Gold Medal Game. Courtney now lives in Madrid where he owns his only clothing line entitled CT Horo.

There may never have been a grander combination of stars on one team than Larry Stevens and Terry Randall. Stevens, a Michigan native was selected in the Second Round of the Season 1 Draft, which saw the High Gravity select Terry Randall in the 1st round. That draft paired two of the most dynamic, complementary and championship driven teammates in league history. Throughout Stevens 13 year career with the High Gravity it was his tenacious defensive and sidekick scoring that led to his nickname of "Hooch", from the movie Turner and Hooch. Stevens defensive presence was on display on the highest level when during Cincinnatis championship run he held opponents to a paltry 44% shooting while recording 2.3 blocks and 1.8 steals per game throughout the post season. Stevens lives in Austin, TX where he started a recording label dedicated to Urban Country.

Nicknamed "The Canada Export", Simmons was one of the most sought after players of his generation. A lock-down defender that could score and play three positions, Simmons was a chameleon for five teams in his SimHoops career. However no matter what team he was on or what positions he was playing, he was the undeniable go-to-player and leader of that franchise. Simmons, a five time all defensive team member is often considered the premiere perimeter defender in league history. Simmons currently lives in Montreal and is the Head Coach for the Canadian National Team.

Before there was Pete Haggard, there was Brian Brooks. If not for age Brian Brooks may have become the most dominant big man in the history of the league, however through the tutelage of his predecessor Pete Haggard, he enabled the Memphis Express to later win two SimHoops and cement the franchise as not only one of the most dominant in the leagues first 20 seasons, but also a franchise with two of the best big men in the history of the game. Brooks a native of Louisville, attended the University of Delaware before playing oversees professionally in London. Brooks runs a school for big men in Wilmington, DE in the off-season which is one of the most attended schools in the country.

The word "explosive" does not even come close to defining the offensive presence Terry Randall brought to the Cincinnati High Gravity over this 13 years with the team. Born in Fremont, California as the offspring of two former Olympic Sprinters, Randall made a living off his genetic gift of speed. By using his tremendous quickness, Randall overcame his shaky outside shooting range to consistently beat his man off the dribble and drive to the hoop or take running jumpers in the lane. Randall, always a flashy trash talking player in his own right is often remember by an MTV Cribs episode where he took the audience through his Cincinnati home showing them a room solely dedicated to posterized pictures of Randall dunking over prominent SimHoops players over the years. Randall will be best known for his unworldly performance in the Season 7 Playoffs as he led the High Gravity to their first SimHoops title while averaging 29.5ppg. Randall still resides in Cincinnati where he owns and operates The Montgomery Inn, which is known for having the best ribs in all of the Midwest.

Off the court Tommy Garner was known as "The Quiet Assassin" who always led by example and proved the perfect diplomat in the opening seasons of SimHoops. Garner a native of Wisconsin played in college at Division III powerhouse Grinnell College of Iowa, where he was named team captain as a Sophomore. While at Grinnell, they lead the nation in team scoring in each of his final three seasons. After college Garner traveled overseas and played for Benetton Treviso of the Italian League. Garner played as an undersized Power Forward in the Italian League, picking up skills that eventually made him a dominant post-up guard in SimHoops. When SimHoops was founded, Garner who was already in his thirties became a charter member of the New York Fighting Jewish, leading the club to the playoffs in each of his three seasons in New York. Garners greatest moments came during Season 4 when his offensive dominance lead the Minneapolis Bricklayers to the Western Conference Finals. Garner is now an Account Executive for a small media sales organization in Flint, Michigan.

Despite being a lunch pale player, Loesers enduring legacy will be the Season 3 Playoffs when he nearly pulled off the first major playoff upset in SimHoops History, when his Denver Mustangs team took the Salt Lake City Night Hawks to Five Games in the First Round of the Playoffs. Loeser carried that team on his back averaging an outstanding 29.5ppg on 66% shooting in the series.

Was always "living the dream" or so he says. One of the more unique characters in SimHoops History, Crook was a star by night for an Orlando franchise in need of stability and a bus driver at Disney World during the day. On the court Crook had skills that players marveled, however it was his in the community work that left an enduring memory on the Orlando community. Every year, Crook would buy every available ticket to one Orlando game (Don''t be a Crook Night) and donate them to local area high schools. In Crooks seven seasons in Orlando, he never lost a game on "Don''t be a Crook Night."

Pfeiffer and Matt Childs paired off as one of the best big-small combos in the history of SimHoops. Kyles career was cut-short due to injury, however it is that hard play in the pain that led to injuries, but without that hard play, Pfeiffer would not have been the dominating force that he was. The Dallas run to the Finals was attributed to Pfeiffers superior play in the middle against San Diegos Jerome English, Ronald Kane and Ashley Wilder, to Milwaukees Gary Brooks and Carl Shipley, to Minneapolis Wally Smith, Matt Raveling and Kevin Jones, before meeting Chicagos Travis McCubbins, Alan Rigsby and Peter Wernimont.

The jewel of Salt Lake Citys original roster, Mike Fisher was a terror on both sides of the court. The 6 foot 4 Fisher was not only an excellent guard, but also a tremendous small forward, despite his size. His performance in the Season 2 Playoffs is arguably the best by any Playoff MVP to date. Even to his final days in the league, Fisher was a lockdown defender and is often considered the best defensive guard in the history of the league, as well as the most efficient three-point shooter the league had ever see. Fisher is now a Special Assistant to the Mayor of Salt Lake City, where he focuses on developing basketball courts within the urban areas of the city.

Despite playing for several coaches in his nine year career, this lifetime member of Miami was the face of the franchise and the one player you always needed to contain if you were to beat them.
A tremendously well rounded player, Harp was the consummate Eastern Conference All-Star. He played at an all-pro level at both ends of the court and his statistics are even more impressive when you weigh them against the other scoring options he had on his teams.
Despite some lean years, Harp, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, refused to be traded from his hometown team, and was determined to bring a title to Miami throughout his career. Harp can still be found at every Miami Elite game, as he has spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach for the franchise.

If you just met Sean Wright on the basketball court, you would never have guessed he grew up in one of the more elite communities in suburban Seattle. From the second Sean stepped on the court, he was a terror to anyone in his path. Standing 7'2 and 380lbs, Wright was a physical marvel, an immovable object inside that dominated SimHoops. Off the court Sean was an Ivy League educated team leader who got the most out of his teammates through meditation and yoga, which he was able to convince many of his teammates throughout the years to join in on.

Steve Snowden was the poster child for versatile Big Men that could play multiple positions. Current SimHoops stars such as Albert Ransdell, Raphael Zabel, Wes Parker, Casey Gall, Von Lacefield and Pete Winburn have attributed their success to growing up practicing their dribbling skills to be like their boyhood idol, Steve Snowden.
Snowden will leave a mark as being a tremendously efficient player who could play three positions at an all-star level and defend the premier players in the league. He certainly was a staple of success and professionalism in the formative days of SimHoops. Snowden now resides in Fargo, North Dakota where he teaches high jumping at the local high school he attended as an adolescent.

Vold was 100% pure offense. If he was in the gym, he was in range. Vold grew up shooting year round in his rural Georgia town as a playground legend, never having any formal basketball training. Vold was signed by the Minneapolis Bricklayers after and open tryout before the inaugural SimHoops Season. That first season Vold played sparingly while learning the game from one of the leagues best coaches, Smokey. When Season 2 rolled around, Vold was ready to explode, and explode he did. Vold will best be remembered for his fearless shooting, especially in Season 4 when he drained 119 3-point shots on 45% shooting.

This former league MVP is another one of the prolific big men that has separated SimHoops from all the other International Basketball Leagues. Van, originally from South Boston, spent his initial years elevating the Boston Legends to premiere status in a city which at that time, was still swaying towards loyalty with the old NBA powerhouse the Boston Celtics. Van, a member of the Season 5 Philadelphia Saints Championships Team was an very balanced player who, however it was his uncanny ability to get to the rim that separated him from the rest.

One of the shorter careers for a SimHoops Hall of Famer, McGuire a native of Kansas City was one of the "Bad Boys" of the league. His reputation as a bruiser was both well documented and also well confirmed. No one ever entered the lane against Portland without getting some for of a McGuire "love" tap. McGuire now assists Jack Sikma as Co-Sponsor of his annual "Big Man Camp" in the Pacific Northwest.

Ross Ellington in his prime was the Grand Duke of all point guards. He set the standard for which all SimHoops point guards will be measured, with not only his scoring and passing ability, but also his tenacious defense and consistent play down the stretch.
Growing up in Iowa City, IA, Ross Ellington was the Iowa High School Basketball Player of the Year his Sophomore, Junior and Senior years (only player ever to do that in the state of Iowa). Upon graduation, Ellington became an immediate leader in the college world, guiding the Springfield Red Raiders to the Final Four in his Freshman year. Springfield would once again make it to the Final Four in his Junior season and the Elite Eight in his Senior year.
After College Ellington moved around playing basketball across the globe, including stints in the Philippines, Belgium, Tibet and most notably Swaziland, where as a member of the Highveld Hikers, he lead that league in scoring and assists with an amazing 73.2 ppg and 18.4 apg enroot to their third Swaziland Championship.
When SimHoops League became incorporated in the United States, Ross Ellington became one of the first members to join the league and was later assigned to the Salt Lake City Night Hawks in their dispersal draft. Ellington and his back court mate, Mike Fisher, quickly became a terror for their SimHoops competition. Salt Lake City has been a staple of success through the history of the league, and that success is no doubt attributed to the standard for which Ellington set as the leader of the Night Hawks.

Was the face of a franchise that no one will ever remember. St. Louis was a premiere franchise when SimHoops first opened up its doors, unfortunately, through owner neglect this once proud franchise was in utter disarray when Swanson laced up his shoes for the Turkeys for the last time. Despite the owner neglect, Swanson was the consummate veteran, never once complaining about the cold water in the locker rooms, used shoes provided to the team, and inability to re-sign any of their other premiere free agents. After his career had finished and new ownership took over, Swanson returned to the front off where he now serves as Executive Directive of Community Relations.

Will unfairly be best known for the controversial trade that sent him from Houston to Dallas in Season 4 (Dallas went on to win the title). However on the court, Matt Childs will be remember as the most dynamic and entertaining scorer of his generation. The Vancouver native had limitless range and an array of trick shots and passes that would have made Pete Marovich proud. Part of his enduring legacy will be that he entered the league at the top of his game and left the game at the top of his game as well.

Will be remembered as the first premiere "name" player in SimHoops history. Before the downfall of the NBA, Wilder was the first player to cross the lines and choose SimHoops over the former basketball juggernaut. A winner of three SimHoops titles, Wilder epitomized the all-around game that is now the bench mark for all premiere SimHoops players for now and forever. Wilder, like Hillerich, used his quickness and strength to gain an advantage on his opponents, however what separated these two stars was Wilders clutch play down the stretch in key situation. Often compared to the smaller and equally affective Charles Barkley, Wilder has set the tone for all future faces of the league.

For years Harrington was the example of how you don't need to be vocal to be a great leader. Harrington, a native of Indiana, was a consumate professional in his seven seasons in the league. Flying under the radar in his years in Cleveland, Harrington lead a Cleveland Miners squad that year in and year out caused fits for many an Eastern Conference foe. Harrington's Miner teams went the distance against far superior clubs in the Season 2 and Season 3 playoffs. Mid-way through Season 4 Harrington was traded to the Salt Lake City Night Hawks, where his presence was immedietely felt. Harrington became a much more known commodity on the big stage in Salt Lake City as the Night Hawks were constant contenders with Harrington leading the way. Harrington retired following Season 7. He will go down as one of the most doiminant and verstile big men of his era.

Briggs multi-dimensional game set the pace for Hurricanes for five amazing seasons, however he will be best know for his unusual free throw approach, where as a matter of principle he shot all of his free throws left handed, despite being a righty. This tactic infuriated coaches, teammates and fans alike, however Briggs demanded to do so stating without that free throw approach, there would be no flaws in his game, and thus no one truly likes a "perfect player." Flawed logic to some, yes, but to Briggs it was a way of life. Briggs retired a year before New Orleans first SimHoops Title, however on the eve of the clinching game, Briggs set the Guinness Book of Records, record for most consecutive free throws with 1,894,328… shooting righty of course.

A tenacious defender who, along with Wally Smith was the face of Bricklayer basketball and set the tone for one of the premiere SimHoops franchises to this day. Raveling is now Assistant General Manager to the Bricklayers, where his focus in on player development.

Despite already having a few miles on the tires when SimHoops was incorporated, Roger Hillerich served the city of Las Vegas well. His early retirement has often been rumored to be associated with a point shaving scandal during the Season 2, however no formal charges were ever leveled and his reputation, although in question, remains intact. Hillerich always got the most out of his undersized Power Forward body, using his superior quickness and strength to put up Hall of Fame worthy numbers.

Harold Van Meter (Hal to his teammates and friends) was raised in coal mining country in western Pennsylvania and began to play organized basketball in high school. With limited family financial resources and no basketball scholarships offered, college was not possible and he worked odd jobs while playing with a variety of local and regional basketball teams. After garnering some media attention with his hoops skills, he was invited to Orlando’s tryouts to earn a roster spot on the new franchise in the inaugural season of SimHoops. At age 30, he was one of the older attendees, but he quickly dazzled the coaches with his smooth moves and deft scoring touch. At 6’6”, Van Meter soon became the cornerstone of the Orlando franchise at shooting guard.
He was named captain in his first season and proceeded to lead the Retrievers to the playoffs in 4 of his 6 seasons. His durability was legendary, never having missed a regular season or playoff game. Although noted as an outstanding defender, during his career, he averaged 21.1 ppg (22.8 in the playoffs) on 52.7% shooting (48.9% beyond the arc), while snaring 4.5 rpg. He retired at age 35 to enjoy more time with his wife and 4 children, having been named to the All Star squad 4 times (once as a starter), selected to the All Pro Team 3 times, and claiming first team All Defensive honors in the league’s first season.

One of the best and most loyal players to ever don a SimHoops jersey, but also one of the most unlucky players of all-time. Gifted with the ability to score from anywhere on the court, Yaden was a constant threat for Kansas City even when being constantly double-teamed by his opponents. Brandon despite suffering through endless losing seasons and limitless ownership change overs never requested a trade from his hometown team. Yaden will forever be the flagship player in the history of Kansas City basketball.

A native of Philadelphia, Barker modeled his game after his boyhood idol Julius Erving. During the formative years of SimHoops, which has often been referred to as the "dead ball" era, Barker paired with Ashley Wilder as the most prominent one-two punch in the league in leading San Diego to two of the first three SimHoops titles. Barker will always be remembered as a tenacious scorer, and one who will inspire the next generation of SimHoops swingmen, just like Julius Erving inspired him.
