Salary Cap Restrictions
- Salary Cap for all Elite teams is 12,000 points
- Salary Cap for all Semi-Pro teams is 8,000 points
- Maximum a player can make on semipro team is 1000.
- No guaranteed contracts are allowed on a Semi-Pro team.
- Each team may have up to 8 guaranteed contracts on their Elite team.
- No player over 29 years old may be on a Semi-Pro team.
- Veteran minimum (age 25 or older) is 400 and the non-veteran minimum is 300.
- Releasing a player while under a guaranteed contract will suffer the following charges:
- (Current Year of Contract/ Number of Years contract was
signed for ) * Per Year Amount of Salary
- For instance if you sign a player to a 3 year guaranteed
contract, and release him in year 3, you still are responsible that season for
20% of his per year salary. Releasing a 5 year contract player in year
3, you would be on the hook for 60% of his per year salary that year, 40% the
following year, and 20% the 3rd year.

Example 1: I sign a player to a 5 year deal worth 1000 per season.
I release him in year 3. I
take a cap hit of 600 in year 3 (3/5 =60%), 400 in year 4 (40%), and 200 in
year 5 (20%).
Example 2:
I sign a player to a 4 year deal worth 1000 per season.
I release him in year 2. I
take a cap hit of 750 in year 2 (3/4 * 1000), 500 in year 3, and 250 in year
4.
- If a player retires and has a guaranteed contract, you are on the hook same as
above, but for only the 1st season after his retirement. If he was non-guaranteed, no cap penalty exists.
- If a player is claimed off waivers, then their current contract is absorbed by
that team, and the player’s original team is still penalized 20% for that
season only. If the player is not
claimed during waiver period, the original team is on the hook per above.
- A team may not sign or trade anyone if it will put them over the cap.
- If a team’s salary cap exceeds the permitted amount, and/or is over 8
guaranteed contracts, a roster freeze goes into play.
The owner can no longer make any roster changes (even changing his
starting line-up), or sign players. All
the owner can do is release or trade a player.
While over the cap or guaranteed contracts, the player with the largest
contract on the team will be unable to play. Also, owners will be fined 25 credits per day they are not in
compliance.
If an owner is in violation of any cap rules for more than 7
consecutive game days, they are then allowed to be terminated by the
commissioner.
Restricted Free Agency
- RFA is not meant to sign every player! It is meant to give teams a chance to sign their highest-priority players before they enter the UFA market.
- Each player is assigned a tier in accordance with their age group. The age groups are 22-25, 26-30, and 31+. They can be assigned a tier between
1 (best) and 6 (worst). Tiers are based mostly on player rating, but also factor in player potential, season and career statistics. Based on these tiers, a player will have certain contract demands.
- Semi-pro players can be assigned any tier, including tier 1. This is done to prevent player stashing on top teams. Semi-pro statistics only count as
60% (compared to 100% at the elite level) of the statistics factor assigned when calculating tiers.
- A team has two chances to sign a player in RFA. They can choose to make an offer to a player, which the player will then accept or reject.
- Any player who is in the final season of their contract (and not retiring) and is not signed in RFA will become an Unrestricted Free Agent.
- A player who is tier 3 or higher can be insulted by a poor offer. This will not only reduce their chance to sign in RFA, but will reduce the home-team's chance of signing the player in UFA.
- A player who is not insulted has an extra 25% chance to retain the player in UFA provided they make an offer.
Unrestricted Free Agency
- Players on both Elite and Semi teams are available for free agency.
- There are 3 rounds of free agency.
- A team may sign up to 26 total players (elite and semi-pro) during each round of UFA. That team
then has 48 hours following the announcement of player signings to rescind 2 existing player contracts (cannot rescind newly
signed players) or face cap penalties.
- Only Elite teams may bid on free agents.
- Contracts cannot be over 5 years in length.
- Non-guaranteed contracts can only be a maximum of 3 seasons.
- All teams can sign up to a total of 26 rostered players during UFA. If a team has
25 or 26 rostered players in round 1 or 2, rights must be rescinded (meaning they exist on your current team
but are available under UFA immediately) to players (to get back to 24 players
under contract) subject to the following rules:
- No players with guaranteed contracts can have their rights rescinded.
- No players in the last season of his contract already can have their rights rescinded.
- No players signed in RFA or UFA during the current season can have their rights rescinded.
- In Round 1, a player must have at least 1 offer at or above his current
salary to consider bids. In Round 2, a player must have at least 1 offer at 80% of his
current salary. This does not mean that players cannot sign for an offer lower than their
salary in Round 1, it just means at least one team had to make a good offer. Round 3 any
player with a bid will go somewhere unless all teams would exceed the cap, max # of players
or something like that.
- Offers will be assigned a % chance based on the quality of the offer (# of seasons, contract value,
whether it is guaranteed, franchise quality). Any offer with a less than 3% chance of signing the player will be considered an
invalid offer and will not have any chance to sign the player.
- Beginning with Season 15, no more than six offers will be considered. If more than six offers are made, the six best
offers will be retained and the remaining will not be considered.
Waivers
- Waivers
for all players is 4 days.
- A waiver wire list will be generated based on won-loss record.
After that anytime a player is picked up via the waiver wire, the
claiming team will be then moved to the back of the list.
- Once clearing waivers the player is a free agent.
